Cameron Young recorded the 13th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history with an 11-under-par 59 in Saturday's third round of the Travelers Championship on Saturday at Cromwell, Conn.

Twelve different golfers have achieved the under-60 feat, with Jim Furyk doing it twice.

Young sank a 10-foot par putt on the final hole of his third round at TPC River Highlands to become the first golfer to finish under 60 for a round on the PGA Tour since Scottie Scheffler at TPC Boston in 2020.

Young had two eagles and seven birdies during the bogey-free round that etched his name into golf lore.

"It's certainly pretty cool," the 27-year-old Young said. "It's fun to have your name on a list that short. But there's some full tournaments that I probably would rank above it in terms of just like overall achievement. I feel like one day doesn't necessarily warrant like a crowning achievement of a career or -- it's certainly my high of the month. But I'm sure I will pretty much try to forget it by tomorrow and go through my routine and see what I can do tomorrow."

Young's previous low on the PGA Tour was a 62, recorded in 2022 in the second round of the Genesis Invitational.

The round vaulted Young from tied for 24th into the lead at 13 under, though the second-round leaders had barely started their third rounds by the time Young finished.

Young, who played collegiately for Wake Forest, began the round with birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie on his way to a 7-under 28 on the front nine. The eagle came when he holed his second shot from 142 yards out on the par-4 third hole.

He added five more birdies and an eagle on the par-4 15th hole. His 59 fell one stroke shy of Furyk's 2016 record at TPC River Highlands.

"The last two days have been great," said Young, who shot 66 on Friday. "I played some really nice golf. I think like in terms of lifetime achievement there's definitely some things that go before it for me. It's one day, it's one day that you shot a million under."
