Linus Ullmark earned his first shutout of the season and the visiting Ottawa Senators defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Ullmark turned aside 27 shots to pick up the ninth shutout of his career in the first meeting of the season between the teams. Ottawa has won four games in a row in Toronto.
Josh Norris, Tim Stutzle and Michael Amadio scored for the Senators, who have won two straight games on the road. Artem Zub added two assists.
Anthony Stolarz made 38 saves for the Maple Leafs, who had a three-game winning streak end in completing a four-game homestand. They had not been shut out in a regular-season game at home since Nov. 20, 2021.
Ottawa struck 41 seconds into the game when Norris scored his sixth goal of the season on a wrist shot from the inner edge of the right circle. The sequence started off a Toronto turnover, and Claude Giroux made the final pass on a four-on-two break.
Ottawa scored two goals 43 seconds apart early in the second period to take a three-goal lead.
Stutzle scored his seventh marker of the season at 3:12 on a shot from the slot following a pass by Drake Batherson. Amadio (second goal of campaign) extended the lead with a shot from the right circle after winning the puck at the Ottawa blue line and skating up the right wing.
Ullmark made a key save on Toronto's Max Domi at 19:02 of the second period on a close-range chance during a power play.
Matthew Knies took a shot at 15:01 of the third period, and it squeezed past Ullmark and rolled toward the goal line but did not cross it.
Toronto removed Stolarz for an extra attacker with over four minutes to play. He returned to the goal at 18:32 when Ottawa went on a power play.
