The Milwaukee Brewers' fielding was honored twice Friday as second baseman Brice Turang received the National League's Platinum Glove and the club nabbed the NL Gold Glove Team Award.

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh was chosen as the American League's Platinum Glove winner, while the Toronto Blue Jays took the AL Gold Glove Team Award.

The honors were announced in New York at the Gold Glove ceremony. The Platinum Gloves go to one Gold Glove winner in each league who is selected as the best defender overall, regardless of position.

Neither Turang nor Raleigh had won a Gold Glove before the year.

Turang, 24, led all NL players in Defensive Wins Above Replacement, per baseball-reference.com, at 2.7. He topped NL second basemen in putouts and assists while making just seven errors.

Raleigh, 27, matched Will Smith of the Dodgers for the major league lead by throwing out 32 attempted base-stealers (out of 113 attempts).

Raleigh finished tied with A's backstop Shea Langeliers for the most assists by an AL catcher (51) and was involved in eight double plays, tied with Carson Kelly (Detroit, Texas) and Washington's Keibert Ruiz for the most in the majors among catchers.

Statcast lauded Raleigh's pitch-framing, listing him as the best in the AL in that metric.

The Brewers' team award was aided by Turang and another Gold Glove winner, right fielder Sal Frelick.

The Blue Jays' defense was anchored by Gold Glove center fielder Daulton Varsho, who topped the majors in Defensive Wins Above Replacement, per baseball-reference.com, at 3.1.
