Nathaniel Lowe hit a two-run homer and scored twice to lead the Texas Rangers past the host St. Louis Cardinals, 6-3, on Monday night.
Starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (8-4) allowed three runs on six hits in six-plus innings as the Rangers snapped a three-game losing streak. Eovaldi didn't issue a walk and struck out two.
David Robertson, Josh Sborz and Kirby Yates each worked an inning for Texas, with Yates earning his 19th save in as many opportunities.
Matt Carpenter hit a two-run homer for the Cardinals, who have lost 10 of their past 16 games.
St. Louis starter Andre Pallante (4-5) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out five.
Texas took a 1-0 lead in the third. With two outs, Josh Smith kept the inning alive by reaching on a dribbler that Pallante failed to field with his bare hand. Smith advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Corey Seager's double.
The Cardinals responded in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead. Paul Goldschmidt led off with a single, and Carpenter followed with his two-run homer.
The Rangers moved ahead 3-2 in the fourth inning. Wyatt Langford hit a leadoff single, Lowe reached on a one-out infield single and Ezequiel Duran blooped a single to center to load the bases.
Jonah Heim hit an RBI single and Leody Taveras brought home a run with a groundout before Pallante coaxed an inning-ending groundout from Smith.
Marcus Semien opened the top of the seventh with a double and continued to third on an error. He scored when Adolis Garcia reached on another error, then Lowe smacked his two-run homer to put the Rangers up 6-2.
The Cardinals got a run back in the bottom of the frame. Nolan Arenado, Lars Nootbaar and Goldschmidt hit singles to load the bases with nobody out.
Robertson came in for Eovaldi and allowed Michael Siani's one-out RBI single before getting Masyn Winn to line into an inning-ending double play.
