The Houston Texans designated Nico Collins to return from injured reserve on Friday, opening the wide receiver's 21-day practice window.

Collins was a limited practice participant later in the day and was listed questionable for the Texans (6-3) in Sunday night's game against the visiting Detroit Lions (7-1).

Collins was placed on IR on Oct. 9, three days after he hurt his hamstring making a 67-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter of the Texans' 23-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Collins, 25, was the NFL's leading receiver at the time of the injury. He recorded 32 catches for 567 yards and three touchdowns in five games.

The Texans will determine between now and kickoff whether Collins will be activated to play against the Lions.

Houston's following game is Nov. 18 against the host Dallas Cowboys.

Also on Friday, Houston placed guard Kenyon Green on injured reserve with a dislocated left shoulder.

Green, 23, had started all nine games this season and 23 of 24 in which he has played since being selected by the Texans with the 15th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Fellow Houston receiver Tank Dell (back) also is questionable after being added to the injury report on Friday. Dell was limited in practice.

Texans star defensive end Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) and running back Dameon Pierce (groin) were ruled out, while cornerback Jeff Okudah (quadriceps), linebacker Jake Hansen (ankle) and defensive end Jerry Hughes (hip) are all questionable.
