West Bengal have announced their squad for the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, with a notable absence: star pacer Mohammed Shami will miss the first two rounds of matches due to injury. The experienced campaigner is yet to recover from the ankle surgery, which he underwent earlier this year.

The Bengal team is gearing up for a competitive season, beginning with their first match against Uttar Pradesh on October 11.

Squad Overview

The selection committee has put together a robust squad, featuring a mix of experienced players and emerging talents. The squad includes:

Key Players

  • Abhimanyu Easwaran: A reliable opener known for his consistency.
  • Sudip Chatterjee: A veteran batsman with a wealth of experience in domestic cricket.
  • Shahbaz Ahmed: A promising all-rounder who can contribute with both bat and ball.
  • Akash Deep: His pace and wicket-taking ability have made him a promising prospect for his domestic and the Indian national team.
